Behavioral Health Major
The Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health degree prepares graduates to make a difference in the lives of others through positions that serve public and private agencies, ministries, and government organizations.
Program Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate an understanding of human development, mental health, and normal/abnormal behavior, including DSM-5 definitions.
- Explain professional ethical values, laws, and behaviors in the behavioral health professions.
- Demonstrate knowledge and approaches for client assessment, case management, crisis intervention, research, statistics, and individual, group, marriage, and family counseling.
- Demonstrate professional helping skills using compassion and empathy.
- Discuss and defend the dignity of the individual within their cultural background.
- Explain how to integrate faith into the behavioral health professions.
