Healthcare Management

The Evangel University BBA Healthcare Management degree provides real world application of current trends in the healthcare industry. Areas of study include the healthcare environment, healthcare quality, legal and ethical issues related to healthcare, information systems in healthcare, and operations management. Students will select from one of two tracks: management or biology. The management track provides a closer look of managerial principles while the biology track explores biology and foundational medical principles.

Provides a holistic exploration of key concepts of healthcare in the United States. The course will explore healthcare professions, healthcare organizations, insurance and payment issues, access to healthcare, policies, and the future of health services delivery.

HMGT 300 : Healthcare Quality

Provides an examination of issues that impact healthcare quality. Students will explore quality outcomes in patient care; analysis and interpretation of quality data; safety protocols; performance management tools; and process controls for quality and efficiency in the healthcare industry.

HMGT 350 : Healthcare Information Systems

Provides an in-depth exploration of healthcare information systems and its role in modern healthcare management. Students will gain foundational knowledge of digital health databases, data management strategies, and the enforcement of confidentiality in compliance with legal and ethical standards. The emerging topics of eHealth security and privacy, artificial intelligence (AI) applications in healthcare, and analytics to improve decision-making and patient outcomes will also be examined.
