THEO 320 : Pentecost

Explores the role of the Holy Spirit in personal transformation as demonstrated in the Pentecostal movement. Topics include interdisciplinary methods to ask, "How do stories shape our lives?", reading and writing spiritual and personal biographies and autobiographies to grasp the importance of "bearing witness" not only to the Pentecostal movement, but also to the world at large in their own lives.

THEO 325 : Theology of Compassion

Examines the rich biblical foundations that inform the way in which compassion functions as an essential element of Christian faith. Students will learn how compassion relates to what it means to be the people of God according to both the Old and New Testaments. A biblical approach to compassion will then be set within a clear Pentecostal framework that examines the role of the Spirit in relation to both signs and wonders and ethical formation.

THEO 334 : The Early Church

Examines early Christian leaders and their thoughts from AD 100 to 600. Topics include first four ecumenical councils.

THEO 335 : The Middle Ages and Beginnings of Renewal

Explores the development of theology and doctrine throughout the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Topics include Augustine, Boethius, Anselm, Thomas Aquinas, Wycliffe, and Hus.

THEO 336 : The Reformation and Its Legacy

Introduces major societal/theological forces, events, and personalities that produced the 16th century Protestant Reformation. Topics include developments in the post-Reformation period including the Catholic reformation, rise of confessional Protestantism, and the wars of religion leading to the Peace of Westphalia (1648).

THEO 360 : Systematic Theology Survey

Examines systematic theology with a view to articulating a strategic summary of its major themes. Topics include revelation to eschatology and explicating the logical coherence of a Christian worldview.

THEO 431 : Theological Ethics

Explores the importance of foundational Christian doctrines such as Christology, Pneumatology, and Ecclesiology and the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love on questions of ethics. It uses philosophical and theological voices from the long Christian tradition in order to consider contemporary ethical questions both inside of the church and in the context of broader society with an emphasis on a Pentecostal stance. THEO 450 : Biblical Theology of Women in Ministry

Invites students to engage critically the discussion surrounding women in ministry in light of the biblical witness, interpretive issues, and contemporary scholarship and practice. It will provide students with the language and tools to construct biblically and theological sound personal positions concerning women in ministry. It will also explore the diverse ways women have participated in and contributed to the life of the church over the centuries to help students place the contemporary debate over gender roles in the church in the larger historical context.
