Criminal Justice Major

The Criminal Justice program at Evangel University prepares graduates for competent service within the criminal justice field and for success in graduate school.

Program Learning Outcomes

The following program learning outcomes have been established by the Behavioral & Social Science department at Evangel to define the areas of knowledge and skills that students graduating with this major degree program should have developed.

1. Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the history and operation of various components in the criminal justice system.
2. Students will think critically and develop an understanding of the various criminological theories.
3. Students will demonstrate the knowledge and skills to competently apply principles of criminal investigation.
4. Students will demonstrate an understanding of concepts and theories of criminal justice administration.
5. Students will understand and apply significant criminal justice values, ethics, and behavior.
6. Students will demonstrate knowledge and history of state and federal laws.
7. Students will function competently and ethically within a criminal justice setting.
8. Students will engage in the criminal justice field using a Christian world view as their lens.
