Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Explain the characteristics and treatment needs of substance abusing clients.
  2. Engage in helping relationship practices which include group facilitation, psychosocial assessment, behavioral change planning, and motivational enhancement.
  3. Utilize effective communications skills including oral reports and written documents in a professional manner.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to uphold professional ethical standards, including confidentiality, informed consent, and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  5. Acquire, evaluate, and use information technology accurately to engage in life-long learning.
