Mission
The College of Online Learning (COL) exists to provide quality educational and development opportunities for adult and graduate students desiring to follow their calling in a faith-infused environment.
Undergraduate Programs
The COL programs are designed to provide the opportunity to attend college as a full-time student while still engaging in full-time employment. According to the recommendations by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), the program is structured much like the 350+ online programs nationwide. Classes meet online in an accelerated format. The seminar-style classes allow adults to share how text theory applies to their current work environments.

Admissions Requirements
Evangel University's COL undergraduate programs are designed for adult learners looking for flexible and accessible options to complete their degree or start their college education. evangel has rolling admissions applications with no specific deadline.
Evangel University's COL will consider applicants who:
- Submit a completed online application.
- Submit official transcripts from all U.S. schools attended for college credit.
- Submit an official high school transcript or GED, unless at least 15 credits have been accepted in transfer.
- Indicate acceptance of Evangel University Community Covenant by signing the application form.
- One personal recommendation is required from a non-relative individual who has known the applicant for three or more years.
Transfer credits are evaluated at the time of application upon receipt of all previous official transcripts ordered by the student directly from the previous institutions. Qualifying credits (C- or above grades) may be applied toward the COL baccalaureate degree at Evangel. More information regarding what courses may transfer can be obtained from TES online.
English Proficiency
For programs offered in English, applicants for whom English is not their first language must submit an examination score report from a TOEFL. A minimum score of 523 is required on the paper-based test, or 193 on the computer-based test, or 70 on the internet-based test.
After enrollment, if the student's mastery of English proves inadequate, Evangel reserves the right to remove the student from classes and require further language study.
International Students
International students are required to have all international transcripts evaluated by an approved transcript evaluation organization before they are sent to Evangel. The evaluation should contain degree postings, courses taken, credit hours earned, and grades received for courses taken. The evaluation will show U.S. academic equivalency. Word Education Service (WES: www.wes.org) is the preferred evaluation company. However, any evaluation service currently a member of NACES (www.naces.org) will be accepted.
Applicants with a Prior Felony Conviction
Applicants with a felony conviction placed on their record within the previous year will not be considered for admission into COL. Applicants with a felony conviction placed on their record more than one year ago but less than ten years ago will be required to submit additional documents with their application. For applicants with a felony conviction place on their record over ten years ago, no additional documents will be required during the admission process.
Degree Completion Students
Applicants seeking to complete a prior degree that was started on campus at Evangel University or Central Bible College (CBC) will be considered “Degree Completers” if they meet all of the following requirements:
- They have an undergraduate graduation application on file with the Records and Registration Office. The graduation application may be from Evangel or CBC.
- They have a gap in attendance of at least three consecutive semesters (i.e., at least one year since their last course at Evangel/CBC).
- They have 12 or fewer credit hours to complete. Eligibility for students with more than 12 credit hours remaining will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Students who meet the above criteria may contact Evangel’s Records Office (Records@evangel.edu) and/or the Online and Graduate Student Services team (OGSSAdmissions@evangel.edu) to initiate the request and collect the necessary documentation. Upon approval, the student will receive a copy of the degree completion plan and specific guidance on the admissions process.
Undergraduate Admissions Categories
If accepted, applicants are notified regarding their admission to the university via email. The offer of admission is valid for up to one year from the term for which they were admitted. A digital copy of the acceptance letter is available in the application portal.
Students may enter the program upon meeting minimum requirements of admission to the specific program. By the act of accepting admission to Evangel University, students acknowledge and agree to the following: That they will be bound by and comply with the University standards and policies, including but not limited to those standards and policies set forth in this Catalog and in the Student Handbook's Code of Conduct. Primary and ultimate responsibility for knowing and conforming to these standards, policies, and degree requirements resides with the individual student.
Regular Acceptance. All admissions criteria have been fulfilled, and all admission materials have been received.
Conditional Acceptance. The student has not met all admission requirements. Remaining requirements must be fulfilled before the deadline provided.
Probational Acceptance. Students admitted who have not achieved the minimum GPA or other assessment criteria will receive Probational Acceptance. Students probationally accepted due to a low GPA will be placed on academic probation for their first two semesters.
