GSCI 220 : Introduction to Forensic Science

Introduces student to criminalistics which explores the history and scope of forensic science. Criminalistics is the application of science to those criminal and civil laws that are enforced by police agencies in a criminal justice system. The scope of this course includes discovery at a crime scene and the forensic analysis of physical and biological evidence. Laboratory activities will give students the opportunity to demonstrate forensic science techniques presented in lecture. Three lecture hours (3 credits) with additional 2 hours (1 credit) of lab per week.
