Student Organizations

Student officers and faculty/staff advisors guide organizations and clubs in accordance with the purpose of the groups and within the framework of University policy.

Activities Board (AB.) The creative members of AB plan and execute campus-wide events regularly throughout the academic year. They seek to provide diverse, fun events including but not limited to: Movie on the Lawn, EU County Fair, Classy Christmas, Gift Card Bingo, Harvest Fest, Dodgeball Tournament, EU Icon, and more.

Student Ministries. Student-led Student Ministries provides opportunities for spiritual growth and service, both on and off campus.

Evangel Student Government Association (ESGA) Senate. All registered students are members of the ESGA. By means of elected representatives from each class, hall and academic department, the Senate provides a coordinated means for student initiative in enhancing University life and college policies. The class presidents serve on the Class Council, which plans the Spring Banquet, honoring the classes through games, giveaways and superlatives.

Evangel Student Executive Committee (ESEC). ESEC is comprised of the executive officers from AB, Senate and Student Ministries, is chaired by the ESGA President, who is elected annually by the student body at large.  Overarching goals of ESGA and ESEC include facilitating student leadership development and promoting cooperative ventures between the student body and University administration.

Student Media. The University sponsors three publications: a newspaper (The Lance), a magazine (Excalibur), and an annual literary/art magazine (Epiphany).  These publications provide excellent opportunities for students to use and develop journalistic skills and creative expression. The publications have consistently won national awards for excellence in their respective categories.  The Lance and Excalibur are part of the Department of Communication.  Content of Epiphany is selected by a panel of student editors which review entries. In addition, the University sponsors four electronic media outlets produced by students under the advisement of Communication faculty.

Evangel University Television (EUTV) broadcasts to campus and the City of Springfield via cable.  KECC (The Vibe), the closed-circuit FM campus radio station, broadcasts music, news, weather, and sports. Evangelvalormedia.com is a student-designed website featuring all the student media; EU Films is the student film organization that produces a feature film each year. Students may apply to be on staff or volunteer with these student organizations.
