Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Care and Counseling
The Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Care and Counseling (GCPCC) is a 15-credit certificate. It equips ministers specifically in pastoral care and counseling which would benefit the pastor or chaplain in their ongoing ministry. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for admission to the program.
Certificate Components and Requirements
The GCPCC can be completed by any student regardless of the field of the undergraduate degree. This graduate certificate can be a "stand-alone" certificate or earned alongside the Master of Divinity degree. The Certificate recipient must take PTH 543 (3 hours) and then take 12 credit hours of the remaining 15 credit hours offered within a three-year period.
Admissions requirements are consistent with the seminary's MA degree programs. Students working toward certificate completion are not eligible for financial aid unless they are enrolled in a degree program. A limited number of courses may be taken through directed research or distance learning. General requirements for graduation apply as well.
