Topics include building relationships with other professionals in education, identifying student and school needs in literacy, and collaborating to implement literacy instruction at the district and school level.

Provides students with practical experience in formal/informal assessment of students, diagnosis of student strengths and weaknesses, and planning and implementing instruction for reading. Each graduate student will work with 5 students in grades PreK-6 during the practicum.

3RDG 691 : Secondary Reading Practicum
Provides practical experience in formal/informal assessment of students, diagnosis of student strengths and weaknesses, and planning and implementing instruction for reading improvement. Each graduate student is to work one-on-one with a students in grades 5-12, as well as a small group of 4 students in grades 5-12 during the practicum.
