Music (Bachelor of Arts)
Program Learning Outcomes for the Bachelor of Arts in Music.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Music program will:
- Demonstrate specific knowledge of the properties of rhythm, melody, and harmony in written and aural music theory. (Musical Skills and Analysis).
- Perform at an acceptable level as both a soloist and ensemble member in a variety of contexts, including piano skills. (Performance).
- Create original music and demonstrate improvisational skills at a competent level (Composition and Improvisation).
- Demonstrate the comprehension of music history according to appropriate historical and stylistic interpretation through written and oral means (Repertory and History).

All music majors are required to enroll in MUSC 098 Concert Experience each semester during which the student must attend a total of 12 recitals per semester, 2 of which should be for the symphony/orchestra credit.
